Pink fairy

Hello lovely people,

I have had such a great weekend filled with lots of time to craft and finishing up with coffee and cakes with friends this afternoon – just lovely!

Earlier this morning I decided to whip up (hmm, Dr Hubby might not agree with the use of the term ‘whip up’ but never mind!) a card for a few challenges and I used the sketch over at The Deconstructed Sketch as my layout inspiration;

Here is what I came up with;

Fairy sketch

I have distressed the edges of the DP a little with sandpaper and a smidge of TH Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap then added the stitching.

Fairy sketch angle

OK, you may have noticed that I was slightly naughty and left off the bow but I just couldn’t make it look right.  Plus, if I faffed around with it any longer when we were supposed to be leaving for the aforementioned afternoon tea then Dr Hubby might have started divorce proceedings…

I used a sweet Tiddly Inks image called Wryn – Fairy Friends and coloured it with Copics.

DP: Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics
Sentiment: Amy R stamp set
Flowers: from stash
Pearl brad: from Wild Orchid Crafts

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1) The Deconstructed Sketch (#97)

2) Tiddly Inks (distress, emboss or stitch)

3) In the Pink (let’s fly away)

4) Bunny Zoe (fave colour combo)

5) Sweet Stampin’ (pastels)

In breaking news I have my fingers crossed for a trip to Ikea this week to buy a new craft desk – woohoo! I will keep you posted…

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Copic convert!

Hello lovely people,

Hurrah – I finally had time at the weekend to play with my new Copics and I love them!  I did have to add in the odd ProMarker so I clearly need to buy some more colours 😉

I used a lovely image from LOTV to experiment with and made it up into this card for the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge of ‘Spring colours.’   It is a bit of a late entry as the rubber stamp I wanted to use for the sentiment disintegrated as I stamped it so I had to rethink the arrangement of embellishments and it seemed to take me forever 😦

The stitching has been done by hand and the edges of DP have been inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.  Oh, and look, there is my favourite die of the moment again!

Card recipe;
DP: Pion Design (Fairytale of Spring)
Flowers: cut with Cricut (Lyrical Letters cartridge)
Border punch: Martha Stewart (the one I can’t remember the name of!)
Leaves: Memory Box Lavish Branch die
Seam binding: from Crafty Ribbons
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Sentiment: Paula Pascual All Year Round stamp set

I am off to try to decide which Copics I should buy next, and of course I think I will need some new sentiment stamps too…

Thanks so much for visiting me,

Hugs,

Something old

Hello lovely people,

Oops, I was supposed to organise this post yesterday but was so ‘busy’ watching Comic Relief that I forgot!

So, here at last is my DT card for Totally Gorjuss and the theme this week is ‘Something Old’ so I challenged myself to use up some old stash.

cupcake

I bought these sweet cupcake digistamps from Pink Petticoat ages ago but just haven’t got round to using them until now.  I have paper pieced the cupcake with Kraft and pink paper then added some Crystal Stickles to the sprinkles on top and used an old button from my stash as the cherry.

Pink polaroid

Hello lovely people,

Hopefully this post will appear as planned on the day I am due to return from my skiing holiday!   The theme at Totally Gorjuss this week is ‘Anything goes with pink’ which is very easy for me 🙂  We are sponsored by J&C Creations so lots of goodies to choose from if you win!

I have seen a few cards using stamped images cut down to look like a polaroid photo and was inspired to have a go myself.  Mine looks less like a proper polaroid because of the black border but I just thought it looked good!

The image is Stamping Bella Uptown Girls – Victoria and Juliette’s night out and I have cropped the bottom off and coloured it with Promarkers/FlexMarkers.  Here come the girls…

Lacy

Hello lovely people,

The theme this week at Totally Gorjuss challenge is ‘Anything goes…with lace’ which is right up my street 🙂  I have used an old but fabulous stamp from LOTV and coloured it with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.  I added tiny spots of Frosted Lace Stickles to the bouquet wrapper but it is less sparkly than some Stickles so you can’t really see it unfortunately.

Fairy nice

Hello lovely people,

Unbelievably this is my second card of the day so if you are looking for my Totally Gorjuss GDT card then scroll on down…

When I saw the theme for the Tiddly Inks challenge this week it was the perfect excuse to get another one of their gorgeous digistamps and I have picked Wryn – Fairy Friends; isn’t she just the cutest?  I have coloured her with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and just added a tiny bit of TH Frayed Burlap ink round the edges of the DP panels.

Drinkies

Hello lovely people,

Since it is Christmas I thought I would push the boat out and post twice in one evening, and big thanks to lovely hubby for letting me spend the time doing it!

I absolutely love Stamping Bella stamps and this is the first one I have bought so I couldn’t wait to ink it up when it arrived and it stamped so beautifully and was a real pleasure to colour with my ProMarkers.  I also just needed to make something that wasn’t at all Christmassy!

Here is a close up of the image;

Stamp: Stampin’ Bella (Victoria and Juliette’s night out) – available from Dies to Die For

Good morning all,

Yes, I know it’s a bit early but I have lots of chores to do today (mostly painting the spare room) so thought I would do something nice first 🙂  Plus I was dying to share my first card made with my new Cheeky Geeky stamp from The Greeting Farm which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it 😀  I have coloured the image with ProMarkers (apart from paper piecing the hairband) and used this lovely sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge;

Cute as a button

Hello,

I love this Lili of the Valley stamp that I bought recently so couldn’t resist inking it up again and colouring it with ProMarkers to make a card for a baby girl.  I have kept the layout really simple with a little bit of sandpaper distressing round the edge of the DP and some ruffled seam binding which is my favourite thing at the moment!

Card recipe:

DP: MME Lost & Found Two – Blush

Edging: Tilda lace die from Magnolia

Seam binding: Wild Orchid Crafts

Sentiment: Big Sentiments by Personal Impressions

Button: from stash

I would like to enter the card in the following challenges;

1) Sweet Stampin’ (stitching)

2) Bunny Zoe’s Crafts (girls girls girls)

3) By the Cute and Girly (cute as a button)

Thanks for looking and for your kind comments,
