Embossed

Hello lovely people,

I am here with a very quick post to share my card for Totally Gorjuss and this week we want to see some ‘Embossing.’  Now, I don’t use either heat or dry embossing all that much but I do have a couple of embossing folders that don’t see the light of day very much.  So, I shook the dust off one of them and went for a really simple little design;

embossed heart

Card recipe;
Embossing folder: Cuttlebug D’vine swirl
Lace: from The Ribbon Girl
Heart / flower: cut with Cricut
Wooden heart button: from stash

I surprised myself with how much I liked this card when it was finished and even better, it didn’t take very long to make!

Do stop by the Totally Gorjuss blog to see some inspirational ideas for embossing from the rest of the DT.

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Kat

Copic convert!

Hello lovely people,

Hurrah – I finally had time at the weekend to play with my new Copics and I love them!  I did have to add in the odd ProMarker so I clearly need to buy some more colours 😉

I used a lovely image from LOTV to experiment with and made it up into this card for the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge of ‘Spring colours.’   It is a bit of a late entry as the rubber stamp I wanted to use for the sentiment disintegrated as I stamped it so I had to rethink the arrangement of embellishments and it seemed to take me forever 😦

The stitching has been done by hand and the edges of DP have been inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.  Oh, and look, there is my favourite die of the moment again!

Here is a close up of the sweet image;

Card recipe;
DP: Pion Design (Fairytale of Spring)
Flowers: cut with Cricut (Lyrical Letters cartridge)
Border punch: Martha Stewart (the one I can’t remember the name of!)
Leaves: Memory Box Lavish Branch die
Seam binding: from Crafty Ribbons
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Sentiment: Paula Pascual All Year Round stamp set

I am off to try to decide which Copics I should buy next, and of course I think I will need some new sentiment stamps too…

Thanks so much for visiting me,

Hugs,

Kat

Holding hands

Hello lovely people,

Ok, I’m bored with this cold weather now and worrying if it is going to snow AGAIN 😦  Plus, it is really hard to take good card photos when it is so grey all the time so please forgive any slight fuzziness of the photos below!

The last card I blogged was intended for Dr Hubby’s Valentine’s Day card but I changed my mind, as is my womanly right 😉  I really wanted to ink up my new LOTV stamp and it made for a slightly more masculine card than the previous one.

Holding hands Kraft

I wanted to try something a little different so stamped the image onto Kraft card using brown ink then coloured it in with ProMarkers/Flexmarkers in shades of brown apart from the little bit of red for the flowers and balloon.  Here are the cute couple in close up;

I folded the seam binding and stuck it down with little bits of double sided tape as I went and raised the image up slightly to give a little bit of dimension as you can see here;

Card recipe;

Seam binding: from Wild Orchid Crafts

Stamp: Script clear stamp from Kaisercraft

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1) Lili’s Little Fairies (A touch of romance)

2) Cute Card Thursday (Love struck)

3) Papertake Weekly (hearts and flowers)

4) By the Cute and Girly (Roses are Red)

Thanks for looking and watch out for that snow!

Grow a little love

Hello lovely people,

Yes, it is the weekend again and I can’t believe it is nearly Valentine’s Day!  The challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week fits in with this perfectly as it is ‘Love’ and we are sponsored by Crafters Companion who will give one lucky person £10 to spend online 🙂

I have used another Tiddly Inks image; this time it is Wryn – Grow a Little Love and I think she is just adorable.  I have layered up the panels without my usual Kraft card border except round the image and coloured Wryn with ProMarkers/Flexmarkers.  I have kept the layout simple so it would be suitable for my lovely hubby 🙂  I hope he doesn’t mind a couple of pearls though!
