Don’t be square!

Hello lovely people,

Wow, I don’t often manage 2 blog posts in a day, but here I am again!  This time I am sharing my card for the Totally Gorjuss Challenge, which is to make anything but a square card.  I have gone for a little wintery scene on a circle card.  I love how the little button/pearl tree came out 🙂

Card recipe;

Snowflake punch: Tonic Studios

Glitter: Crystal Stickles

Buttons: from stash

Pearls: Kaisercraft

Sweet baby boy

Hello lovely people!

Some friends have just had a little baby boy so I immediately went to one of my favourite LOTV stamps, which I have coloured with ProMarkers.  I seem to have been making quite simple cards recently without much embellishment but this one was calling out for some added prettiness to go with the beautiful Maja papers!

Card recipe;

DP: Maja Vintage Summer collection

Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments

Crochet flower: made by my mother-in-law!

White paper flowers / pearls / pearl brad: from Wild Orchid Crafts

Lace: from The Ribbon Girl

Foliage: cut with Cricut

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1) Lili’s Little Fairies (anything goes)

2) I Love ProMarkers (anything goes)

3) Sweet Stampin’ (flowers)

Krafty colouring

Hello lovely people,

The Passion for ProMarkers Challenge theme is ‘colouring on Kraft’ this week and I thought I would give it a go.  I took the good advice to choose a simple image and keep the colouring really simple.  I am not sure what I think of my attempt but am glad I gave it a go and would maybe try something more ambitious next time.

Image and sentiment: from Pink Petticoat

Vintage hearts

Hello lovely people,

I have been drooling over all the beautiful Maja papers for a while and finally bought some and they are so worth the extra expense for the quality.  It was tough cutting into them as they are so lovely and I could have just sat looking at them for hours!  I eventually decided they would be perfect for an engagement card for some friends.

I cut the hearts using my Cricut and inked all the elements for a distressed look.  Here is a closer look at the pretty bits;

Card recipe;

DP: Maja papers Vintage Summer collection

Edge punch: Martha Stewart doily lace

Seam binding / pearls: from Wild Orchid crafts

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress ink pad in Frayed Burlap

Button: from stash

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1) Papertake Weekly (ribbons and pearls)

2) Anything goes (stitching)

Row of hearts

Hello,

I whipped up this quick card for the Totally Gorjuss challenge of ‘plain and simple’ and was surprisingly pleased with it.  I love CAS cards but am not always happy with my attempts at them, so this made a nice change 🙂  It was also a great way to use up some scraps of paper!

Card recipe;

DP: scraps of SEI paper (very old collection, not sure which one)

Hearts: cut with Cricut

Scalloped edge: Martha Stewart scallop dot edge punch

Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments

Seam binding: Wild Orchid Crafts

Better late than never!

Hello,

This is my VERY late entry for the Die-ing for a Challenge theme of ‘Halloween or Monster’ as I forgot to post it earlier – oops!

I have used the super cute witch from the Spooktacular digi stamp set from TGF and the layout inspiration came from this sketch from TGF Double Take Tuesdays Challenge;

I have followed the sketch pretty closely, using ProMarkers to colour in the image and I have inked most of the papers with black ink, but used white acrylic paint brushed round the edge of the main panel.

Card recipe;

DP: Bo Bunny – Enchanted pad (available from Dies to Die For) and a little scrap of random orange spotty paper

Scalloped edge: Magnolia Doohickey die – Tilda lace (available from Dies to Die For)

Sentiment: Personal Impressions ‘All year round’ stamp set

Button and thread: from stash

Hope you all had a spooktacular halloween and thanks for stopping by,

In the garden

Hello,

I was asked to make a 70th birthday card for a colleague’s Dad who enjoys gardening.  I had a few stamps in my collection that were possibilities but decided to buy a new digistamp instead from Just Inklined.  I coloured it with ProMarkers and was particularly pleased with the how the wood effect on the wheelbarrow came out.

Here is a close up of the image;

I added a little tag behind the top panel for a message to be added;

Card recipe;

DP & letters/numbers/bracket stickers: Simple Stories Documented collection

Twine: from stash

Apologies for the less than perfect photos but it is that time of year again and I had to take these on the floor of my office!

I would like to enter this card in the Passion for ProMarkers Challenge which has the theme of ‘in the garden’ this week.

Thanks for stopping by,

Kat
