Taking a break from Christmas cards

I took today off work as I had the tail end of a migraine from yesterday but did manage to take some photos of a card that I made a couple of days ago.  I needed a little break from making Christmas cards and decided to ink up the gorgeous Cheeky Howdy stamp from The Greeting Farm.

I actually had this stamp in mind when I bought the checked paper and it teamed up beautifully with some Kraft card and hand stitching plus a few pretty embellishments.

Here is a close up of Cheeky Howdy;

I would like to enter the card in the following challenges;

1) Anyone for Anya (thank you)

2) The Pink Elephant (thanks)

3) I Love Promarkers (anything goes)

Hope you enjoyed the card!

White Christmas

I thought the ‘white on white’ theme on the Passion for Promarkers challenge blog would be difficult but I am really pleased with how the card turned out.  Apologies if the photo makes it look more ‘cream on cream’ – it is white I promise you but taking photos in the dark evenings is not easy.

The image is a new Christmas stamp from Lili of the Valley which I have coloured with ProMarkers (of course!) and edged with a little chalk.  The background is swirls cut with my Cricut machine layered onto the same white Bazzill card with seam binding (from Wild Orchid Crafts) and a few pearls.

I am entering the card in the following challenges;

1) Passion for Promarkers (white on white)

2) ABC Christmas Challenge (winter sports)

I never would have tried this effect without the challenge so thanks for the inspiration!

Cosy bunnies

Well, here is yet another Christmas card!  This cosy little bunnies stamp is one of last year’s Lili of the Valley christmas stamps but I only bought it this year!  I can’t quite believe I made a card without any DPs; that is so not me!  The image is coloured with ProMarkers and I have added glossy accents and white glitter to the hats.

I took a lovely photo of this card earlier but my computer somehow corrupted the file and I have had to re-take it now it is dark so doesn’t work very well – boo 😦  It is better if you click on the pic for a larger view though.

I am entering the card in the following challenges;

1) Lili of the Valley (all creatures great and small)

2) Penny Black and more at Allsorts (all creatures great and small)

Ballerina

Just a quick post from me today to share this card I am entering in the ABC Challenge (crochet flowers) using a cute little ballerina stamp from Lili of the Valley.  It is coloured with ProMarkers and the crochet flower was made by my mother-in-law!

Thanks for stopping by,

Wedding card no.2

Oops, it took a bit longer than intended to finish this wedding card for my colleague as I got sidetracked making Christmas cards!  I wanted this cute digi from The Greeting Farm as soon as I saw it and this was the perfect excuse to get it.  I coloured it with ProMarkers and am even happy with how the hair turned out; I often struggle with this.  I kept the layout really simple with some pretty Capella collection paper from Basic Grey, Kraft card and a few old buttons from my grandmother’s collection.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp! challenge this week, which is ‘buttons.’

Bright and Sparkly

I made this card for several challenges that had a ‘sparkly’ theme using a gorgeous Lili of the Valley stamp from last year.  I distressed the edges of the DPs (something left over from last year!) with sandpaper and the image/snowflake were edged with Distress Stain in walnut.  The image was coloured with ProMarkers and I added some sparkle on the hat with glossy accents and white glitter.  The ticket was a download to which I added text.

I am entering the card in the following challenges;

1) Lili of the Valley (#119 ‘Bright and Sparkly’)

3) I love ProMarkers ( #90 ‘Sparkle, shine and glitz’)

4) Papertake Weekly (‘Anything goes with optional bling’)

Apologies for the photo if the sparkle doesn’t show up well; it is really hard to take photos when it is so dark in the evenings 😦
