A little bit of sparkle

Hello lovely people,

Wow, another week has rushed by although I have only been in work for 2 days so can’t complain!  I’m here with my card for Totally Gorjuss and this week our theme is ‘Anything Goes with Sparkle’ … sounds easy, right?  Not so much for me as I don’t often add a lot of sparkly stuff to my cards, so here goes…

Teal and grey wedding angle

As usual, the stitching was done by hand and I stuck all the gems down one by one (very carefully!) then I added just a little extra sparkle to the flower centres with some Crystal Stickles.

Where has my mojo gone?

Wow, it has been ages since I was on here due to a serious loss of mojo 😦  I have just not been happy with anything much I have made recently and have been taking a bit of a break.  However, I was asked to make a wedding card for a colleague and was able to turn to one of my favourite and most used digi stamps from The Greeting Farm, which I have coloured with ProMarkers.

Sorry that the photo seems a little fuzzy; the light hasn’t exactly been great recently, but here is a close up;

Card recipe;

DP: Bo Bunny Enchanted

Scalloped edge: Martha Stewart edge punch

Heart: cut with Cricut

Black gems/ribbon: from stash

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1) TGF Farm Fresh (can you digi it?)

2) Simon Says Stamp (photo inspiration)

3) Papertake Weekly (anything goes)

Thanks for stopping by,

Pretty in pink

Hello all,

I made this dinky little card (only 9 x 11.5cm) for the Truly Scrumptious challenge of ‘pretty in pink.’

I sewed a line of running stitch down one side of lengths of grosgrain ribbon and seam binding and pulled them tight to create the ‘flower’ layers then added a pearl brad in the centre and mounted it on a scalloped circle.  The swirls of gems were created from hand with individual gems and yes, it took quite a while to do!

Here is a close up of the embellishment;

Card recipe;

DPs: MME (Lost & Found: Madison Avenue)

Edge punch: Martha Stewart doily lace

Sentiment: Big Sentiments by Personal Impressions

Seam binding/pearl brad: Wild Orchid Crafts

Lace/grosgrain ribbon/gems: from stash

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments,
